I don't know where my head is at, but I can't seem to figure out how to put my photo on the message board.  Any suggestions?        Lucky me! Six days out of surgery I found out for sure what dumping is.  I don't want to share the moment by moment experience but I can tell you...I don't want to do it again!  I know what I did to cause it after I read all of my material for the FOURTH time.  The mind goes first...before the weight, that's for sure.       Anyone have any comments on "to weigh or not to weigh"?  I am afraid I might be on the scale 30 or 40 times a day...just kidding.  But, I would like some insights on this.       Also, has any one had a problem having all of their info on Google or other search engines?       Tomorrow will be one week...whoopee!        I read on the Penn State Bariatric site they usually keep their patients in the hospital, after surgery, for 4-7 days.  That was a good laugh for me who was kicked out after two...and, I was self-pay.                                           Mikelanne

Hello....I haven't dumped  so I can't help you with that. I do weigh myself every morning. I always have. It is part of my morning routine. I take a shower and then hop on the scale.  I only weigh that one time....never more often. You could drive yourself crazy doing it more often. No problem with other seach engines. Have a great week......hugs, connie d

I stayed off the scales until my first surgeons appointment.  Then I syncronized my scales to theirs and now weigh myself only once a week.  Otherwise, you will go stark raving mad  when you hit a stall which I assure you that you will.  Often you lose inches during those stalls but they sure are frustrating and I have had several and am only 3 months out.  Also my weight loss is goofy.  I will lose nothing and then get on the scale the next day and have lost 5 pounds.  Thats why I go for once a week.  I havent dumped yet and dread that first experience.  Almost became scared to eat because of it.  It took a lot of courage to overcome those feelings.

Thank you for your wise advise.  I think I'll put the scale away and do as you say.  I'm just going into my second week and have other problems to deal with.   I dumped because I ate some cottage cheese, took too big a bite, didn't chew it well and it got stuck on the way down.  So, I took a mouthful of chicken stock to help it out.  It didn't hit me for a couple of hours, but when it did, it was awful.  I don't know if you have ever had hypoglycemia, but it had very similar symptoms: faintness, profuse sweating and lots of runs to the bathroom.   So, I hope I have the wisdom not to do that again.  Again, thanks.  Mikelanne
